The Montana Chamber of Commerce announced the hiring of Alexandria Klapmeier as the organization’s new Communications Director. In this role, Klapmeier will be responsible for external communications, news media, branding, and communications planning for the state’s leading business organization.
“We’re excited to bring Alexandria on board,” said Webb Scott Brown, President/CEO of the Montana Chamber of Commerce. “She is a talented writer who understands the changing world of communications. This will be critical to implementing Envision 2026, our plan for Montana’s future.”
Klapmeier grew up in Northern Colorado. During her childhood, she got her first taste of small business life as she helped her mother out at her antique store. Klapmeier attended the School of Journalism at the University of Montana.
During her collegiate years, Klapmeier completed internships at The Green Bay Press-Gazette, The Denver Post and The Oregonian/OregonLive. After she graduated in 2015, Klapmeier accepted her first job at a weekly paper in Washington State. Last November, Klapmeier moved back to Montana where she worked at The Montana Standard in Butte.
“I am thrilled to begin this new role with the Montana Chamber of Commerce,” said Klapmeier. “I am looking forward to implementing new social media strategies and spreading the word about the great businesses of Montana.”
