Play golf for a good cause and a good time, on Sunday, September 30 at the Pryor Creek Golf Club, Huntley.
Participate in the seventh annual Callan Taylor Fund for Kidney Disease Charity Golf Tournament. The event is being held in Montana for the third time. Previous tournaments have been held in San Diego, California, where the fundraiser was first launched by the family of the little boy, who is its namesake.
Callan Taylor had family members in both San Diego and the Billings area, and many friends and family from both places have always been involved. Each year the number of friends and supporters grow as they raise money for this worthwhile cause. So come, even if you’re not a golfer and enjoy the camaraderie and lunch, which is being catered by Pryor Creek Golf Course.
Funds raised benefit the PKD Foundation which does research on Polycystic Kidney Disease, which is what caused Callan’s death. Over 600,000 Americans are currently living with polycystic kidney disease (PKD), a chronic, life-threatening genetic disease that enlarges the kidneys. Currently, there is no direct treatment or cure for this painful illness. Those affected are often forced to undergo dialysis or transplant in order to survive. Many are children whose lives, like Callan’s, are cut short.
The tournament begins with a shotgun start at Pryor Creek at 9 a.m., however a kick-off reception will be held the evening before on Saturday, September 29, at 6 p.m. at the High Horse in Billings, at 3953 Montana Avenue.
The Tournament will be played in scramble format with four person teams. Don’t have enough members for a full team? Don’t worry. Teams can be formed at registration which begins at 7 a.m. There will be awards for teams placing first through third, as well as other course feats, and for a huge raffle.
The cost is $99, which includes green fees, t-shirt, two drink tickets, one raffle ticket and lunch at Pryor Creek. Tickets may be purchased for just lunch for $35.
Donations are also being accepted and may be mailed to Callan Taylor Fund, c/o John Cole, 4810 Gesner Street, San Diego, CA 29111.
