Tim Goodridge has been named to fill the newly-created position Assistant General Manager at Metra Park. Goodridge brings years of experience in entertainment and event management to the job.
He emerged as the top contender for the position, following a review of dozens of applications by a committee formed to recommend the best candidate to the county commissioners. In accepting the position, Goodridge said that being a part of Metra Park, “is a dream job.” Metra Park is the premier event and entertainment complex in the state and region, he declared, adding, “All roads lead to Metra Park (literally) and with smart planning and execution, the enormous economic and cultural boost it gives Billings year after year can continue for generations.”
Goodridge is well-known in the community as founder, in partnership with his wife, Pam, of Magic City Blues 19 years ago. He is has also served as coordinator of the East Billings Urban Renewal District since 2016.
Pam assumed the active management of the festival in 2016 when Tim became coordinator of the EBURD. According to Goodridge the Magic City Blues festival will continue under her management and is scheduled for July 30 – August 1 on Montana Avenue Billings.
Goodridge will serve as assistant to manager Bill Dutcher, who has announced plans to retire at the end of this year.
County Commissioners indicated that hiring an assistant provides an opportunity for a smooth transition in hiring a new manager. While being assistant manager will give Goodridge “a leg –up” when the manager position opens they will advertise for applications as they do most jobs in the county.
