Barbara Braided-Hair, a Retail Manager at First Interstate Bank in Lame Deer, was nominated to serve as a Montana Ambassador by their Board of Directors. Her nomination was confirmed by Governor Steve Bullock.
Braided-Hair grew up on the Northern Cheyenne Reservation and continues to live there, alongside several generations of her family. She is fluent in the Cheyenne language and attended Accounting courses at Chief Dull Knife College. Barbara began her career at First Interstate in 1999 as Branch Manager. Her prior experience includes the Clerk of Court and Juvenile Judge for the Northern Cheyenne Tribal Court and Payroll Specialist for Northern Cheyenne Central Finance Department. Braided-Hair is currently involved in several community and cultural boards and activities, including Lippman Schools Collaborative, Hopa Mountain, Governor’s Commission on Community Service, Northern Cheyenne Fire Corp., and Cheyenne Children Services and she is the Co-Founder of People’s Partners for Community Development
