Big Sky Economic Development is now accepting applications for their 2019 Space2Place creative place-making micro-grants. Creative Placemaking involves creating or enhancing community assets to improve the beauty, vibrancy, and livability of our public areas.
Groups, organizations, and individuals within Yellowstone County are encouraged to develop and submit their ideas for how they can transform a public space in Yellowstone County into a beautiful, lively, and welcoming place.
Grants up to $5,000 will be awarded to deserving projects. In 2018, grants were awarded to six outstanding projects: “Fractionated Light” art installation at N 27th St and 2nd Ave N; “Grassland” under SkyPoint; the Billings Depot pocket park; Montana Audubon Center; SCRaP; and YRPA’s Blue Creek fishing access site.
Grant applications are due by March 13, 2019. Winners will be notified by April 12. And the awards will be presented publicly on April 25th at the Better Off in Billings event at the Pub Station. All awarded projects must be completed by September 30, 2019.
