How to do Business with the State of Montana  
On Oct. 3 a seminar on How to do Business with the State of Montana will be held in Billings, 1 – 4 pm., at Granite Tower, 222 N 32nd Street, Yellowstone Room, 1st floor. The State Procurement Bureau is touring the state conducting outreach to vendors and potential vendors. Representatives from the State Procurement Bureau will be presenting on a number of topics, including: Differences between construction contracts and procuring goods and services Commonly purchased goods and services Regulations and requirements impacting state procurement Where to find solicitations How to register as a vendor in the Montana Acquisition and Contracting System (eMACS) Resident preference and reciprocal preference Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) program How to respond to solicitations Tips for winning state contracts Resources for vendors There will be time for questions and answers at the end. Brewers and beer industry representatives alike will have the opportunity to elevate their craft through a variety of talks and panel discussions at the 2018 Montana Brewers Conference and Trade Show happening September 27-28, 2018 at the Doubletree Hilton Hotel Missoula-Edgewater in Missoula. Presented in partnership by the Montana Brewers Association and Fermentana, the conference will feature plenary talks, as well as breakout sessions covering three topic-focused tracks – technical brewing, business, and front-of-house operations - over the course of the two days. Several networking activities for attendees will also be held during the event. Over 150 attendees are expected at the seventh annual event, including over 15 businesses exhibiting in the trade show. The keynote speaker for the event is John Holl, Author and Editor of Craft Beer & Brewing. To cap off the week, the Montana Brewers Association will host the 2018 Montana Brewers Fall Rendezvous at Caras Park in Missoula. The festival will feature samples of Montana made craft beer, including special festival release beers that will be hard to find anywhere else in the state.


Registration is now open for the 15th Annual Young Ag Leadership Conference (YALC). This exciting, one-of-a-kind conference is set to take place October 5-7 at the Big Horn Resort in Billings. YALC is a collaborative effort between nine of Montana’s agricultural organizations, offering attendees a chance to discuss current ag issues, take part in various workshops, meet with industry leaders and network with fellow young people who live Montana agriculture. The cost of registration is $50 for the entire conference, with all meals provided. After the pre-registration date of September 25, fees increase to $60.
